Pregnancy Loss

Pregnancy loss is a tragic event, which can lead to a major emotional crisis. When pregnancy loss occurs, the expectations, hopes, dreams and aspirations that you had for this child are shattered. We hope that these pages can provide some information on how to cope with your pregnancy loss.

Because the pregnancy loss has been sudden and unexpected, you may be experiencing the effects of trauma and profound grief. It is important for you and the people around you to know and understand that the feelings you are experiencing are normal reactions to loss.

This does not equate to mental or emotional instability. The grieving process will take time. Sometimes, it may take about one to two years to recover.
