Plain Blood
Adult: 3 mL
Paediatric: 1.3 mL


Trough level- collect specimen just before the next dose.
Peak level - collect specimen 1 hr after start of IV dose or 1hr after IM dose.
For OD dosing: Single level: collect 6-14hr after last dose.
Trough level: collect 18-24hr after last dose.
Peak level: collect sample 1 hr after start of IV dose.


Invert blood 5 times after blood collection ensures the clot-activating factors is well mixed with the blood. This will ensure results are reliable..
