Specimen Requirement

1.Prechill EDTA tube at 4 degrees C before drawing the specimen. 2.Draw the prechilled EDTA tubes(s), and process 2 mL of EDTA plasma from a fasting patient as follows:A) After drawing specimen, chill EDTA tube in wet ice for 10 min. B) Centrifuge in a refrigerated centrifuge. C) Immediately after centrifugation, remove EDTA plasma, place in a plastic vial and freeze. 3. Send specimen frozen.
