Adult: 3 mL blood 
Paediatrics and Neonate: 500 uL blood
Gently invert the tubes several times to prevent clotting.

Send to laboratory as soon as possible after blood collection at room temperature.

The test process involves centrifugation which has a potential risk of aerosolisation. Haematologist approval is required to perform the test on highly infectious cases (confirmed / suspected).
