Specimen Requirement	Plain Blood Adult: 3 mL Paediatric: 1.3 mL Blood specimen should be taken just before the next dose for assessment of trough level. Invert blood 5 times after blood collection ensures the clot-activating factors is well mixed with the blood. This will ensure results are reliable.

Additional Information	Critical Value: 80 mg/L Trough serum vancomycin concentration of 10 to 15 mg/L are recommeneded for most infections.
