Dr Benny Loo is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Paediatric Medicine, KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH). He received his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2007 and obtained his post-graduate Paediatric Medicine qualifications in 2015. Dr Benny is the Co-Lead for the Sport and Exercise (SEM) Service@KKH and the Deputy Site Chief of SEM Service@KKH under the SingHealth DUKE-NUS SEM Centre. He was the Chairman of the workgroup for Consensus Statement on Singapore Integrated 24-Hour Activity Guidelines for Children and Adolescents which was launched by the College of Paediatrics and Child Health, Singapore in January 2021. He was also the Chairman of the workgroup for the Asia-Pacific Consensus Statement on Integrted 24-Hour Activity Guidelines for Children and Adolescents which was a regional collaboration with experts from 13 Asia-Pacific countries. Dr Benny served as a member of the Sports Safety workgroup under SportSG since Aug 2020. Dr Benny holds teaching appointments in all three medical schools (YLL NUS, DUKE-NUS, NTU LKC) and the academic appointment of Clinical Assistant Professor. He is also a Core Faculty for the Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) programme and a Physician Faculty for the Paediatric Medicine Residency programme. He participates actively in research activities and his interests includes Paediatric Sport and Exercise Medicine and Paediatric Medical Education.
