Dr Lee Shu Ying is a senior paediatric anaesthetist at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore. She completed her MMed (Masters in medicine, Anaesthesiology, Singapore) and was awarded the Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2008.
Her special interest is paediatric regional anaesthesia, which can reduce the need for strong painkillers and help kids wake up more comfortably. After a fellowship at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in the UK focusing on ultrasound‑guided nerve blocks, she obtained the European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy (EDRA) in 2012.
She loves working with children and their families, and aims to make the perioperative journey as calm and comfortable as possible - easing anxiety, managing pain, and supporting recovery with safe, evidence‑based care. She also enjoys teaching and serves as Clinical Assistant Professor with SingHealth Duke‑NUS (ANAES ACP), SingHealth Residency Clinical Physician Faculty member, and Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Beyond the hospital, she joins overseas humanitarian surgical and teaching missions - a meaningful way to combine her skills with her love of travelling with purpose.
