Profile

Dr Wang Junjie is a Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology, Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has had more than a decade of experience managing obstetric and gynaecological conditions and is a board accredited gynaecological oncologist.

Dr Wang Junjie graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore with a MBBS bachelor degree and proceeded to complete his specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology. He was subsequently admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK). Following this, he became an accredited Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Singapore. He was then offered further subspecialty training in the field of Gynaecological Oncology at KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH).

During his subspecialty training, he was awarded the SingHealth HMDP Fellowship Award. He then undertook an Advanced Laproscopic Oncological Surgical Fellowship in Inselspital Bern, Switzerland and trained under world renowned Professor Michael Mueller and did a further surgical fellowship at the Oscar-Lambret Centre for Cancer, Lille, France with the distinguished Dr Eric Leblanc. Dr Wang has participated in numerous research trials and has publications in both local and international journals. He has also presented his research at many local and overseas conferences.

Dr Wang specialises in preinvasive gynaecological conditions and treatment of gynaecological cancers. He is an accredited surgeon in Gynaecological Cancer Surgery and one of the few accredited surgeons for Minimally invasive surgery for gynaecologic cancers. Dr Wang's subspecialty of interest is in minimally invasive management of gynaecological cancers as he feels that his patients benefit greatly from the reduced post surgical pain, quicker recovery rate and shorter hospitalization period. Dr Wang runs the Colposcopy clinics and Gynaecological Cancer clinics in KKH's Gynaecological Cancer Centre. Dr Wang is also an accomplished obstetrician and runs general obstetrics and gynaecology clinics.

Dr Wang's gentle bedside manners, earnest and compassionate nature has garnered him favour with his patients and colleagues. He has been conferred the SingHealth Health Service Quality Awards and Service from the heart awards for multiple years.

Dr Wang holds teaching appointments in all 3 medical schools in Singapore. He is a clinical Assistant Professor for Duke-NUS Medical School, Adjunct Assistant Professor for Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Clinical lecturer for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS). He is responsible for teaching the medical students and is an acting examiner in the undergraduate examinations. Aside from undergraduate teaching, he is also heavily involved in postgraduate training. He is a Physician Faculty for the SingHealth Obstetrics and Gynaecology Residency, where he mentors and trains the residents . On top of this, he serves as an examiner in various MRCOG courses in Singapore.

Dr Wang also sits on the Council of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society of Singapore, where he plans educational conferences and webinars, and organises activities for the fraternity.

Dr Wang strongly believes in honest, holistic, patient involved treatment. He maintains the importance in candidly educating patients to assist them in making an informed decision with regards to their treatment.
