The KKH Urgent Paediatric Advice Line (U-PAL) is a complimentary online service that empowers parents and caregivers with expert guidance for managing common paediatric conditions in children under 18 years of age. Whether dealing with fever, cough, diarrhoea, vomiting, or minor injuries, U-PAL provides reliable support when you need it most.
Exciting New Features
U-PAL has been significantly enhanced with two groundbreaking additions: comprehensive breastfeeding support and cutting-edge generative artificial intelligence technology. These innovations deliver more personalised, comprehensive healthcare guidance available at your fingertips, 24 hours a day.
Always Available When You Need It
U-PAL operates around the clock at no cost to users, with only standard local data charges applicable.
Important Service Information
This service is provided free of charge, with only standard local data charges applicable. U-PAL is designed to complement, not replace, professional medical consultation with qualified practitioners. The quality and comprehensiveness of advice provided depends on the accuracy and completeness of information supplied by users. As U-PAL utilises new generative artificial intelligence technology, responses may not always be completely accurate, and users should exercise appropriate judgement when following the guidance provided.
For medical concerns not adequately addressed through this service, users are strongly advised to seek prompt consultation with qualified medical practitioners. Children requiring urgent medical attention should be taken immediately to the nearest paediatric emergency department. In event of medical emergencies, please call 995.
Important Medical Considerations
For certain pre-existing or chronic medical conditions, KKH U-PAL may not provide the specialised care your child requires. If your child has any of the following medical history that still requires ongoing follow-up and care, please consult directly with your child's attending doctor or designated care team rather than using this service.
Conditions Requiring Specialised Medical Care:
Children with complex medical histories including bowel or abdominal diseases, liver conditions, kidney disease, autoimmune disorders, heart conditions, brain or neurological diseases, endocrine disorders, cancer, complications from prematurity, or those on long-term immunosuppressive medications need continued specialist oversight that extends beyond general paediatric guidance available through U-PAL.
For these conditions, your child's established medical team is best positioned to provide appropriate care tailored to their specific needs and medical complexity.
