Clinical Assoc Prof Chao Sing Ming is a senior consultant in Paediatric Nephrology, A/P Chao headed the Nephrology Service from 2002 to 2012.
A past ASEAN scholar, she was trained in paediatric nephrology under HMDP fellowship at Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and Royal Melbourne Hospital. During her headship, she successfully set up a multi-disciplinary Voiding problem clinic and laid the foundation for development of Paediatric Nephrology Service at KK Women's and Children's Hospital.
She enjoys teaching undergraduate students, postgraduate students and young doctors undergoing Paediatric training, as Associate Professor at NUS-YLL School of medicine, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Paediatric Academic Clinical Programme.
She is actively involved in research as the Principal Investigator, Co-investigator in research projects and clinical trials including NMRC grant projects. She had also participated actively in International and National scientific conferences in her capacity as organizing chair, invited speaker and symposium chair.
In 2016 she was awarded the best oral presentation on her research work at the 17th Congress of International Paediatric Nephrology Association. She had numerous publications in peer- reviewed international journals and had authored book chapters on Paediatric Nephrology.
She served as a past member of the National Advisory Committee on Renal Care and was responsible for the Ministry of Health Clinical Practice Guidelines for Treatment of childhood UTI as well as Voiding Dysfunction in children. She has served as reviewer in national medical research projects and peered review journals.
