Therapy intervention sessions are generally 45-60 minutes and an assessment session can range from 1-3 hours. For more information about the individual disciplines, please visit our Intervention at DCD page.

Our MSW sessions range from 1 to 2 hours.
Your child’s well-being and recovery is important to us. If your child is unwell, has a fever, or, is coughing badly, we highly encourage your child to rest at home as your child’s learning would be more optimal if he/she is in good health. We are also mindful about limiting the spread of infection to other children and staff sharing the same space. Please reschedule the appointment by calling the clinic directly.

Your child's doctor will review your child's response to intervention, ascertain his/her need to different level of support and/or referral for additional intervention. Assessment for neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) etc. and school placement discussions will be conducted where indicated. The doctor may also suggest liaising with community partners such as schools, early intervention centers when needed for holistic care.
For doctor’s video consultation, it is recommended for your child to be present as the doctor will conduct developmental assessment by observing and interacting with your child. Doctor may also request parents to facilitate activities such as copying shapes, writing, reading, etc. where relevant.
For a therapy video consultation, it will depend on the situation, as some therapists may also need to observe the child.
Please ensure that you will be able to attend this session without any interruptions and distractions, preferably in a quiet and private space.
Financial assistance is available for eligible families. Kindly inform the doctor or therapist during your child’s visit if you need financial assistance, or contact our Medical Social Workers directly at kkh.dcd.msw@kkh.com.sg.
Charges for therapy sessions are means‑tested based on family income. This can only be determined after the consultation. For enquiries on charges related to services provided by other departments, please contact the respective departments your child has been referred to.

The therapist will frequency of intervention based on your child’s developmental needs.
Our DCD doctors and therapists will work closely with you to conduct comprehensive assessments and provide targeted interventions. They will also offer personalized recommendations regarding your child’s schooling, ensuring decisions are informed and supportive of your child’s developmental needs.
